Student Business Services offers the following payment options:
Important News about Credit Card Payments
Effective May 1, 2023, the convenience fee for using a credit card will increase to 2.95% on payments for tuition, fees and other charges including housing, parking, traffic fees and fines, library fines, student health insurance and repatriation insurance. The conveniene fee covers charges assessed by credit card companies to provide the service. The University does not profit from this fee.
To avoid the convenience fee, students may pay online with an electronic check. Payments by cash or personal paper check are accepted at the Student Business Services cashier windows.

How can I pay for my balance?
- In person, our cashiers only accept cash and personal paper checks.
- Online, payments can be made with credit cards (a 2.95% convenience fee will be applied) or electronic checks.
- If you are mailing your payment, the payment must be received by the close of business (5 p.m. MST) on the payment deadline due date.

- All payments are due by 5:00 p.m. (MST) according to the due dates for the respective term.

Please note the following items cannot be added to the payment plan and are due immediately if the Payment plan is selected:
- Student General Property Deposit
- Installment Tuition Handling Fee
- Service Fees (Late Registration and Add/Drop)
- Fines (Traffic and Library)
- Discretionary Fees (liability insurance)
- Amounts due for financial holds from prior periods.
- Study Abroad related charges (housing, meal plans etc..)
Payment plans cannot be canceled once selected. Please make sure the payment plan is your best option before enrollment.
Students that are under 18 years of age and want to enroll in the payment plan:- Parent or Guardian needs to email sbs@utep.edu a copy of their driver's license on behalf of the student;
- SBS will then reply with step by step instructions so they can process the Authorized User Payment Plan
Tuition Loan

- All payments are due by 5:00 p.m. (MST) according to the due dates for the respective term.

Tuition Loans cannot be canceled once selected. Additionally, no other charges can be added. Make sure all the charges are in your account before processing a Tuition Loan.

- SBS will then email student & parent guardian Tuition Loan documents via DocuSign with additional instructions.

For non - military students:
- All students being sponsored by a third-party entity need to submit a Statement of Understanding (SOU) by the payment deadline.
- Once the SOU is received, Student Business Services will review and process the form.
- Once the form is processed, Student Business Services will code the student's account to secure the students's classes from being dropped due to nonpayment.
- If payment is not received, the student is responsible for the balance and registration will be restricted until payment is submitted.
